LOL I get what you are saying, but I'm guessing its just cultural differences. They always seem to say comments that Americans would consider
'rude' from my experience, and I do get uncomfortable when they talk in their language cuz I swear its about the customers lol but I agree with whoever
said just pay some more and go to a white salon if you dont like it haha. Me personally will put up with the bullshit for a great $15 (including tip) eyebrow
wax compared to the $30 'white' salon eyebrow wax (without tip). But best believe I will not skimp when it comes to my hair, I will def. throw down the
$200 every 6 weeks.

My mom owns a nail salon and I've worked there over the summers or whenever I'm home from break. As for making those comments, they're not trying
to be rude. Like others have said, they're just very blunt... I don't think their intention is to be rude.
One of my mom's employees always ask people if they want their eyebrows done, even if they don't need it. It's not because they think the customer's eyebrows are ugly or anything, they're just trying to make a sale. And when they speak in their native language, trust me, 9 out of 10 times, they're not talking about you. If they're not fluent in English, why would they use it with one another when it's easier for them to talk in their native language? My cousin, who is not at all fluent in English, always talks to me in our native language asking me how school was and etc when we're doing pedicures side by side. Honestly, I think you're being a little too sensitive. You shouldn't take it too personally. |

The whole talking about you in their language reminds me of that Seinfeld episode. Anyone ever see it? lol. Elaine swears the nail salon people are talking
about her so she takes Jerry's dad along with her one day (since he understands the language they speak) and she finds out they were talking about her.

Others have already said it, but it is a cultural thing. I wish more people would grasp this concept and not be so quick to make generalizations about other
races.

If the vibe was weird I would find another salon.

Its a culture difference. In Asia, they're a lot more upfront and blunt. My parents certainly are.

I've heard that the people in China are VERY rude to each other. Maybe they just don't know how to act appropriately by American standards.

I am always uncomfortable when they talk in a different language. I understand to say something to one another and communicate something about the job they are
doing but when they sit and have conversations and laugh it pisses me off

OH. MY. GOD. i can't believe how incredibly racist some of you bitches are, talking about how you hate it when asian salon workers speak their native
language and how rude asians are because they don't understand Americans...
well, maybe you don't understand THEM. if you don't like their languages or mannerisms then go to an all white or all black salon and quit your bitchin'. seriously, its 2009, people. |

Why would anyone shave their toes? Because hairy toes look ugly. |
