I know "cruise people" have it down to a science. I've never been on one and am leaving next week. Any tips for a first-timer? We're on
the Enchantment of the Seas, if that matters.

I just got done reading a book called "The Unthinkable" about how people respond to disasters and such. And I know how to swim. But I should get some
dramamine.
My main thing is that I need to run nearly every day while on the boat, so I'm hoping the track is decent, otherwise I'm on the treadmill every morning and that will suck! What's this I hear about decorating your door? |

hopefully they have one of those nights with all the chocolate stuff, that was always my favorite
oh and book your trips and stuff once you get to port, its cheaper that way. |

I tried to go on the treadmill when I was on a cruise, but it just made me nauseous. Our ship, Carnival, Miracle, had the gym at a top floor at the front of
the ship where it was very windy/rocky.

Wait, you NEED to run? On a cruise? That's some dedication right there--the only way I'd be running is if something very large was chasing me.

if u get seasick, or too drunk.. or really anything that causes you to vomit..
DO NOT LET ANY CREW MEMBER SEE YOU VOMIT!! they can put you on lockdown, and possibly quarantine you in your room until you get to port.. to prevent diseases and shiz on the ship. if u vomit, be discreet. |

Kerli- We don't even have any idea what we plan to do in any of the places we are landing, so that's not a problem I guess. But it sounds like they
might try to sell us some? Good to know to wait.
Stella- Mine has a track I guess, but I am concerned that if it's like .1 of a mile that will get real annoying real quick. lol. I have trouble with regular, dry-land treadmills. I can't imagine one on a ship! |

Bonine...Do not take Dramamine. You'll sleep if you take Dramamine.
If you're going on a Carnival ship...the tracks are fine. Others, no idea. Don't decorate your door. You'll look weird to everyone else. Treadmills on a ship are hilarious. Run on one! You don't notice the ship moving forward in the water. |

My ship had a track, too.. but because of where it was situated, it was SO windy out that no one could use it.
Edit- Do people actually decorate the door? I don't get it. |

Don't wait til the last day to realize you can get drunk and not have to worry about driving/check out the topless sundeck cuz it is fun.
Bring Purell and be aware of all the rails you touch... and the other 834922302 things others have touched. |

I don't know, I heard people decorate their door on some cruise ships. I think the person who told me not to forget to bring stuff to decorate my door was
on a Disney cruise, but I could be wrong.
And "you'll look weird to everyone else" isn't really an issue, as I'm in a group of 200 goths on this cruise, so I think I'll be the least of the weird. |

Take some pepto with you just in case. The rich food did a number on my stomach, and I wandered down to the nurse's station trying to get some pepto, and
they wanted to quarantine me. I got my pepto, after they tested my blood to make sure I was okay.

See if you can find "Seabands" in your drugstore. They look like little sweatbands, but they have a hard piece of plastic that goes over the pressure
point on your wrists. They help with seasickness. I found that just a little alcohol goes a long way. After one drink I felt TRASHED with the slight movement
of the ship

Enchantment of the Seas? That's RCL right? I went on Freedom of the Seas.
I used the track everyday. There's a walking lane and a running lane around the entire top deck of the boat. Best times was early morning when the boat was docking at the island you saw a lot while running at those times so it wasn't just water all around you. Royal Caribbean is pretty fun. The security check points when getting on the boat is a lot, get there as early as you can. Don't lose your room key, you need it to get on and off the boat at every stop. It's also your money on the boat, everything is charged to it. If you drink a lot of pop during the day then the plan where you buy the plan for the week is a good idea, cause they refill it as much as you want once you have the cup. |
