with that out of the way on to the fun.
i bought the fun sized ones because i wasn't quite sure what i was doing and didn't want to waste the full sized ones if i made a mistake. the fun sized snickers were 2/$4. i only bought one bag though.
here are the snickers on the kitchen counter.
i stuck popsicle sticks in them. we didn't want to do the whole bag so we only did 12.
i stuck them in the freezer for a few hours. (NO PICS)
for the batter i chose instant pancake batter. it was the kroger brand and it was 88 cents. i only chose that because all i had to do was add water and i'm a dude and i didn't want to have to mess with eggs and oil and all that stuff.
HERE IS WHERE I MADE MY FIRST MISTAKE! the batter was too thin and as soon as i dropped them in the hot oil the batter came right off. i lost 3 of my snickers bars almost immediately. RIP. i went and asked trustly google how i could make batter thicker and google said to add flour. so i did that and it was thick enough to stick to the snickers. i then dropped them in and let them cook for about 30 seconds-1 minute on each side, then i pulled them out and drained them on a paper towel. here is the finished product:
once i let them cool off for a bit i tasted them and they were quite good. the outside was kinda crunchy and the inside was all warm and gooey and melty (hmmmmm melty).
i don't have a deep fryer so i was just frying them in a deep pan so my frying skills would probably be enhanced if i had the proper tools. i lost 2 of the snickers because i fried them for too long and they were not fit to eat.
only 7 of the original 12 made it to the serving plate.
i ate one and the gf ate one too so the rest are sitting at home waiting. i don't know if they'll taste good reheated but we shall see tonight.
