If she was still doing that, she'd be in the discount bin with all the other 90s acts that fell off. People made fun of Touch My Body, but that became her 18th #1. She knows what she is doing. I don't know why people expect artists to stay the same forever. The industry changes too much for that. I don't expect anyone to stay the same forever. I just think she needs to find the happy medium. And get rid of Jermaine Dupri.

(Nothing wrong with keeping the sound updated, but yes.) It's sad that an album she made 10 years ago when she was in her late 20's is more timeless and more mature and holds up better than music she's making when she's almost 40. Which is why practically everything she's made this decade already feels stale, while I still find it hard to believe that Butterfly is what? 12 years old?
