I think the couple should keep them simple so everyone will want to eat a piece.

My aunt's wedding cake was three layers--one each of red velvet, italian cream, and strawberry.

I don't think it's that unusual. In fact anymore I think it's more unusual not to have another flavor thrown in there.
I'm thinking possible three flavored tiers for mine: a rich dark chocolate, pumpkin and banana with a really yummy frosting. |

Ours was coconut cake with chocolate mousse filling and vanilla almond icing. It was fabulous.

My best friend wanted a really good cake and I suggested red velvet. She'd never had it before but after she tried a sample from her baker she went with
it. It turned out REALLY good and so much better than just vanilla or chocolate.

My mom had almond pound cake, chocolate, and marble. All three were delicious.

This must be a cultural thing because I don't think I have seen or heard of a single wedding lately that just had yellow or white as their flavors. Or
maybe the weddings I have seen try to be fancy? It is always like, White Almond Crisp or Cream Marble or Chocolate Hazelnut. Some kind of flavor and not just
white, chocolate, or yellow. One of my friends had a pink cake-I don't know the exact flavor, but it was delicious.

rory13 wrote:hmm... coconut cake sounds really good, as long as the cake itself is coconut, not a big fan of frosting/icing, but the vanilla almond sounds good too! If someone had some nasty ass carrot cake and I was their guest and they thought I was seriously going to eat it, I would throw it in their face. |

Dude I don't blame her. Carrot cake makes me violent, too.
