Express, Old Navy, wherever. I think I need a part time job so I can make extra money and don't have to do rocket science. Am I going to get paid at least
$9.00 an hour?

And it depends on what state. Macys in Texas paid me $7.50, California Macys paid me $9.00.

Death is easier than working retail during the holidays.

Here? I doubt it. I got 9 an hour at Barnes and Noble, but I have managerial experience with the company and needed no training.

When I worked retail a few years back I had no previous retail experience and they started me out at like 8 or 8.50.

holidays are easy. The time goes by super fast. I would never work a place with clothes, though. Too much rehanging.

I work for American Eagle and so far I haven't known anyone to make more than $8.50 starting out, this is in PA. You can always try and negotiate and as
previously mentioned, prior retail experience can only hope

I worked at VS and I would literally fold underwear for like 3 hours. In the middle of folding it, someone would come up and yank a pair out and fuck
everything up so I'd have to redo it all.

Yea, haunting memories of working at Express years ago just came flooding back to me. Where I would organize the whole rack and someone would come in 5 minutes
before we close and mess it all up.
Lisa, B&N isn't a bad idea. I want to work in the Colonial Shopping center which is like, within walking distance to my house. I won't need much training at all. |

I am sooo down working weekend nights. That's all I want! Maybe one night a week, but I have a full time job still. But I want a retail job as opposed to
bartending so I can still have a life on the weekends.

Also work the day after Thanksgiving and that weekend, as well as Christmas eve. They like that.

At my store you weren't even allowed to have black Friday off. Everybody got scheduled. They also said they were going to have lunch for us which turned
out to be a chicken nugget platter from Chick fil a that was too small to feed everyone that was there. The whole idea was that they didn't want anyone
taking an actual break but a lot of people didn't even get to eat.

B&N is the best retail job out there. I could never work retail anywhere else.

I hope to god that this will be one of my last holiday seasons in retail. I don't even enjoy Christmas anymore.
