I don't mind getting acrylics, but they're a pain in the ass (and painful!) to take off after 4 days. But I don't want to just get my nails painted, because I think that's ugly. Is there any alternative that looks like acrylic but doesn't last as long?
Okay, question about getting my nails done.

I am getting my nails done for my sister's wedding (I'm a bridesmaid). I want to get acrylics, but the problem is that I'm not allowed to have long
nails, fake nails, or even painted nails for school. I am looking for something that will look nice like acrylics, but aren't as long-lasting,
because I'm getting them done on Friday and I need to have them off by Tuesday.

Why do you think painted nails look ugly? Do you have ugly nails?

Because my nails are thin, if I try to grow them out they break... and I want to get a french manicure but it will not look good on these nails.

The uv gel nails are good, you can have short ones too. Like a natural look, French type. You can take them off with a remover... I think.

My sister used to use press-ons, and I didn't like them, they're too flat. That was in high school, though... Do they look more normal now?

Oh! I have the perfect suggestion! My sister is a nursing student, and she is not allowed to have fake nails/painted nails for clinicals, but she uses the new
OPI Axxium gel polish usually in Bubble Gum and they last forever, don't chip for at least 2 weeks, and help your nails grown.

I think painted fingernails are ugly too. They always look tacky.
Toenails, on the other hand, always look better with a pedicure. |

I have acrylics and they're short. Most people think they're my own nails. You can go to the same place where they did them and have them removed.
It's not a long process. Slightly uncomfortable, but nothing an adult shouldn't be able to tolerate.

I use Sally Hansen's french manicure kit, where you just paint it on and they always look good to me. =) And then simple nail polish remover to take off...

I forgot about my nails till the last second so I stopped at CVS on my way to the wedding and put them on. I got the Broadway Real Life kind. They were the length I like, short and french manicure. They stayed on all night too |

I would go with Gels. I hate acrylics anyway.
Why can't you have them for school? |

Why don't you get a natural looking manicure? I think those look classier than most acrylics anyway, which often look tacky to me.

XxBlondeshavemorefunxX wrote:I went to a nail salon last night and asked what they could do, and they pretty much said that they'd do the acrylics for me and then take them off a few days later for half the removal price. I really think I'm just going to get CVS nails, though... I tried them on last night and they didn't look that bad. As long as the nails look okay in the wedding pictures, I don't care.
Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm also going to look into that OPI gel polish! |
