A friend of mine doesn't have dental insurance, job doesn't offer it. But he's looking into getting one off line.

My advice is to ask around for a good, but cheap dentist. If he lived in my area, I'd give him my dentist's name.

Wisdom teeth aren't always covered under deltal issurance... I think mine were covered under my regular health insurance...
deltadental.com, is a good site to look at and Blue Cross has an option for Dental. |

If there is a dental school in your area, you can also get your teeth cleaned at a really low rate and the students are supervised by a teacher. I'm not
sure about pulling wisdom teeth though.

Try this. They don't have it everywhere. American Dental
Inc . I live in Houston so I got in on it. It cost me 160 dollars for a 16 months. I also got eye coverage too. It isn't insurance its mainly a
discounted. However I have been once and it payed for itself. I had a visit, with full x rays, special stuff put on my teeth and a cleaning of a permanent
retainer. It cost me 40 dollars. I saved 300. They have a list of prices online.

Like someone said, wisdom tooth removal is sometimes covered under medical insurance.
As for his cleanings, have him go to a dental hygiene clinic (students who are learning to be hygienists). They do a great job, and it's really cheap (around $25), and they can probably take x-rays at no additional cost. |

He can also look into carecredit.com. More and more dentists are offering it now, it'll help him so that he doesn't have to pay the lump sum right
away.
