I agree with this. He has not even been President for a year yet. I mean he has made a huge EFFORT for foreign peace, but what has he really gotten
accomplished that would deserve an award like that?

I think this gives Obama pressure to fully commit to those very speeches that got him this award. No compromises, closed-door deals, etc.

I'm just quoting what the Nobel committee used as their explanation.
I somewhat agree that he hasn't 'done anything yet', but I do think he has made positive actions in bettering the climate between national leaders, which is important, and possibly the first step. But it is indeed a very surprising choice.. |

yeah, i don't really agree with this. i like obama, but i don't think this was a good choice. plus it's kinda weird considering we're at war in
afganistan and iraq
