CrysLovesCouture wrote:You're making up scenarios and yet in reality, this woman was killed by her husband with a legally owned gun in her own home. It flies in the face of your "people are killed by crazies with illegal weapons!!".
The WOMAN killed her husband. The gun didn't shoot him on it's own.
And you're all taking media drivel.
OH NO a gun accidentally killed someone! How Horrible!
THIS IS NOT COMMON.
And you will NEVER hear the THOUSANDS of stories where an armed citizen has SAVED someone else, or how responsible, armed people do GOOD. No, that's just not interesting.
Let's say that this armed woman is at the soccer game, watching her kid, and a psycho criminal shows up with an illegal firearm (because that's how criminals work, they get their weapons illegally and conceal them) and tries to open fire on all of those kids.
The woman who is armed can take action AGAINST that criminal. There is a high chance that she could have saved a lot of those kids from getting shot.
Whereas, if everyone there was unarmed and someone came in shooting, there would be no way to defend against the criminal.
So stop going OMG A GUN SHIT WTF AHHHit's not all movies and crazy people.
and anyone who's been married a long time has DEF thought about shooting their husband!![]()

I can't believe people are justifying this woman's actions. A gun to a children's event? What a fucking moron.

In this murder-suicide, does it specifically say in this article which person was murdered, and which committed suicide?

So wait, who killed who? Some people are saying the husband killed the wife and others are saying the wife killed the husband...which one was it?

Neighbors said the children ran outside and said their father had shot their mother, but Wright declined to disclose what investigators have concluded about how the deaths occurred. Fortna said the children told another neighbor that "daddy shot mommy." A police chaplain answered the door at that neighbor's home Thursday and declined to comment. Am I missing something here? Why are people saying she killed her husband when the article says the kids said their FATHER shot their MOTHER? |

Apparently her husband killed her, then himself. They were found on separate floors of the house.

Why do people just read headlines and not the whole story and then argue their ignorant opinion?
I don't own a gun and until last December, I had never even held one.. that doesn't take away from the fact that anyone who obtains a permit to carry a concealed weapon shouldn't just because other people are scared. I'm scared that only cops are able to carry them around without being threating. It's so easy for people who have so much power to corrupt so easily. We as AMERICANS have the right to keep and bear arms. Why are so many people willing to give up their rights just because they're scared?

I'm not scared at the fact that she has a gun. By all means, do whatever it is you feel like you need to do to protect yourself and your family (clearly did not work for her), but why does it have to be visible, especially at a child's soccer match? Put your shirt over it at least, cover it up. It's unnecessary to have it visible like that, she was asking for attention and trouble. |

Shit like this doesn't happen because people don't know how to use guns, it's because the wrong people get their hands on guns. I'm not saying the way she was carrying her gun was right.. I don't believe it was. |

Well, I mean, if someone was going to hurt your kid, they wouldn't get a permit to do it!

I'm sorry but carrying a gun to a soccer game is SO motherfucking redneck. My father used to have a gun and had a permit to carry. The difference is he
knew when it was a good idea to carry it. He never once carried it to any of our games.
This woman lacked common sense. As evidence in who she married. |

Hey Einstein, the majority of crimes committed in America are committed by Whites; however, with our legal system they tend to receive lighter sentences/parole over their minority counterparts. So next time you're looking over your shoulder for that suspicious looking minority better checkout that person standing next to you! |

MandsLB8 wrote: That's not the point though. The argument you are using could be an excuse used for anything... "oh she used her chair to attack someone". The point isn't even that she had a gun on her. The point is there is no need for her to have it out in the open, it's unnecessary. She could have had it in her purse, knapsack, whatever. If she was worried about not having enough time to get it, all she has to do is cover it with her shirt. Plain and simple. |
