My friend has been using it for a few months and her makeup looks great on her and evens out her blotchy complexion. People on here seem to dislike it but I
just wanted to know why since her face hasn't broken out by using it and I was thinking about buying it myself

I've heard from most people that it's pretty awful for your skin.

For some people, yes. Not everybody has a bad reaction to it, but plenty of people do.

For me I have to use a really good cleanser to get all the makeup off at the end of the night - it's really good at staying on but you fall asleep with it
on it is horrible for your skin.

If you want a lot of coverage, try out Cover FX. It's a cream foundation, which I never used to use, but this stuff is seriously AMAZING.

The worst MAC foundations for your skin are probably Studio Fix Fluid and Studio Fix. The lighter ones aren't as bad as those ones, but I'm still not a
fan of MAC foundations.

It's hit or miss. I know some people LOVE that stuff, others hate it.

I used Bare Minerals for a while and now I use Clinique Perfectly Real liquid foundation and I like it a lot. It doesn't mess with my skin and I feel like
it stays on longer and better than BM did. If I don't put on a sheer powder on top, it also tends to give off a more natural (non-dry) look.

I didn't like it by itself but I actually have been mixing it with another foundation that is lighter coverage (and actually a lighter shade because the
shit the woman gave me does not match my skintone at all
) and
it's been fine for me. Didn't like the lighter coverage by itself and didnt like the MAC by itself so I thought it'd try 'em together.

I have pretty sensitive skin, and I use MAC without any problem. (I use the Select SPF foundation, btw, not the Studio Fix).

Scarlet...what's the MAC foundation that comes in a little soft plastic bottle. If that makes sense. It kind of narrows as it gets to the top and almost
looks like a long nipple? lol ok that was a horrible description and you probably have no idea what I'm talking about. I have studio fix fluid right now
and I feel it's a little too...heavy. My friend has the one I was trying to describe and hers seems more water based and not so thick.
Edit: This is what she has. Which type is this?

I love it. It makes my skin looks flawless and I'm fair so it blends well with my skin and last longer than most foundations out there. I like the powder,
and eye shadow colors too.

Can anyone recommend a powder foundation that has the same coverage as Studiofix? I'll stop using it if I can find one that's comparable to it.

I have a few scars on my face that I like to cover up and I feel like it does absolutely nothing to cover it up, even when I use the concealer brush you can still see the dark tint. It's good to put on after foundation but using BM alone does not do enough of a job for "night" makeup. |

Scarlet, did/do you work at MAC? What foundation would you recommend to someone who has oily skin that's prone to some breakouts? Or should I stay clear of
MAC because of that

I read a lot of bad things about MAC foundation but I have never really had an issue with it.
I now use MAC Face and Body foundation and I LOVE it. It's water based. Fantastic coverage, never irritates my dry/sensitive skin. I never get break outs to begin with, but I have never gotten any with this foundation. It doesn't have SPF but I used a separate one anyways. It looks great in photos as well. It's on sold at free standing stores, not at MAC counters fyi. Plus, the bottle of Face and Body is huge, you get so much for your money. |

I have dry to normal skin, and use MAC studio fix nearly every day. It works really well for me ... it evens out my skin tone without looking heavy/cakey. I
apply it using my fingertips, so the application is more sheer and natural-looking vs. applying with a foundation brush. I've been singing its praises for
the past few years ... I wouldn't use any other foundation.
