student teaching with a full time job????? Im having so much trouble right now*(trying to figure out what to do Spring semester) I have one class remaining to
graduate with my early childhood degree. I will be starting nursing pre-reqs soon but thats something else...lol. Anyways, I have been lookning for an
afternoons position EVERYWHERE so I could still be full-time but there is NOTHING!! So, should I put student teaching on the back burner, yet again, and just
take some pre-req courses for nursing at night until Im able to student teach?????
UGHHH im sooo sick of thinking about all of this!!! |

I never did student teaching, but my best friend said she couldn't have a full-time job. She worked nights/weekends at a bar!

Student teaching pretty much was a full-time job for me. I can't imagine having an"actual" full time job on top of it!

I didn't work. As someone already said it became a full time job for me and there was no way I could handle it.

The program im in actually has a really simple practicum class to most. We need at least fourteen hours a week to get the two hundred ten by the end of the
semester. And we only have to do one activity a week and one take over week. Honestly I think it should be harder but GOTDAMN I can't even figure out how
im going to do this!! LOL

I had to leave my job...
May I ask why you're doing student teaching (education degree) if you're becoming a nurse??? |

you keep minimizing the gravity of the commitment and the time expenditure, so i think you'll figure it out.

There was no way I could do student teaching with even a part time job. Not only did I have other classes to take, but add the student teaching hours and work,
no way. That's why I had to take a break from my part time job when I was student teaching, cause I would have been way too overwhelmed and exhausted.

I also kinda figured I could be part-time it's just my job WILL NOT allow me to go parttime. So i've been looking for anything and haven't found
SHIT. So I keep thinking well should I put it off until i can find a job and just do prenursing classes until then....

My program didn't allow us to hold a job while we student taught. Student teaching was a full time job. There were days when I was there from 6 in the
morning until 7 at night.

Wait, how do you only have one activity a week? I taught for 15 weeks almost every day and the majority of the lessons were my own.

Im currently an infant/toddler teacher, and I admit that I have learned alot but Im not sure if I would feel ready for my own prek class!! |

No offense but if you can't handle the requirements of a teaching degree/cirriculum, I don't see how you are going to be able to handle the
requirements for a nursing degree/cirriculum. When you get to the point of taking nursing courses that require a clinical with them, the instructors are not
going to accomodate your schedule when it comes to clinicals. And pretty much most nursing clinicals start at 6, 6:30 am and then others are late afternoon
till the early evening.
