I love the show, but that is SO frustrating.

Jensen IS a fantastic actor. One of the best in the business, unfortunately no one but Kripke knows that. But I agree, I have a huge problem with the lack of
explanation and time they given to Sam's character. I feel like the writer's were scared of truly making Sam bad in fears of alienating their insane
fans, so he got completely short changed. If something bad happens even to Sam, we see it through Dean's eyes, and it's about Dean's betrayal. They
have yet to delve into Sam's grief when his brother died besides that one ep that was more about Sam's relationship with Ruby than Sam's grief.
They have yet to explain Sam's powers or lackthereof. Sam says he's "punishing himself" about starting the apocalypse, but he's acting
pretty damn normal to me.
I love the show, but that is SO frustrating. |

That was not for you
I think people should stop wanting everything to happen to BOTH of them. They each get their own storylines and sometimes one's better than the other! Angels love Dean so he gets the cool time traveling parts. That's what Sammy gets for becoming BFF with a demon |

The amount of screen time Dean gets doesn't bother me....its the way that Sam seems to have to share his screen time with Castiel now that annoys me a
little bit. Last time I checked there were 2 male leads....three's a crowd

I'm sad that Sammy's never really got to interact iwth his mom, except that one time. But I want them to get at least some of the depth they give to Dean's storylines/emotions to Sam's. John died...and it was all about Dean's pain and Dean's hurt. But um, Sammy hadn't really seen John in three years, never made up with him about all that happened and found out his dad was willing to KILL HIM, but they never really talked about that. Never even referenced it. In last season, especially, it was all about Dean and I was mostly fine with it until they skimmed over the whole "Wee, Sammy's evil" part and never really focused on his life after Dean. DEAN faced evil Demons from hell, but short of 4.9, we never heard anything about what Sam did or what he killed or anything. Now, Sam's jumpstarted the end of the world and we got one awesome episode about his pain, but now he's all put together and fine. Even though Bobby's paralyzed and people are dying and Season 2 Emo Sam would be all...emo about it but he's not at all. He's like Castiel-stoic, just taller.

He is growing I guess! I'm not defending the lack of Sam-development at all and I agree with you. Like I read somewhere, it's like sometimes we are
seeing Sam's feelings through Dean's reaction to those feelings and that's not really that good.
I just don't feel it when people say why Dean has great emotional moments and cool mindtrips and awesome storylines and Sam doesn't. Those were necessary for the development of Dean's character and were missing for Sam's. It's not like it's a competition between them or anything. They both need to grow. |

He doesn't because they didn't write them for him. That's all they need to do.
But I agree, I hate that Sam's suddenly competing with Castiel for airtime. I just want to see more development on his end. But I'm pretty sure I beat that horse to death at this point. I still think the show is creative. I'm pissed about Paris Hilton, but what can you do. Hopefully people watched to see her and liked the show and they'll keep watching. They need to have lighter eps to match the heavier ones, otherwise the show would be too much, too heavy. And I can't wait for "Changing Channels." If it's as good as Wishful Thinking? I'll never complain about anything ever again. |

I don't think Sam is fighting Castiel for screentime. He has way more. He's one of the TWO leads afterall.
If anything, I think Sam was fighting him for DEAN TIME (not so much now that they're back together). There's only ONE relationship that matters the most and that's Sam and Dean. Stop trying to shove Dean and Castiel down out throats. It just does not come close. And it gets annoying. And has anyone seen Jared and Misha together. Those two have a great vibe. Why can't we see more of Sam with Castiel? And don't give me the crap about how Castiel is there for Dean. As if that means he and Sam can't interact without Dean. I think that's what bugs me the most about Castiel. That he's connected at the damn hip with Dean. Annoying. Annoying. Annoying. |

I haven't seen one at least.
