Are there names in the top list that you really love but wouldn't use just because they're popular? Or would you not care and use them anyway? I've
always loved the name Emma, but it's been ridiculously popular for a while now. I wonder what I would do ... hmm.

Yeah I loooove the name Isabel and Sophia, but they're both so popular now.

I don't really like the most popular names, but if I did I wouldn't not use it just because it was one of the most popular.

I don't care for most popular names because they are so plain. Like Sara and Mary. But if there was one I really loved I wouldn't care that it was
popular. Unless I knew someone personally that used it.

I hate weird ass names like mine and I hate really popular names. I like something in the middle.

I still love what I named my kids. I have a very unusual name and spend my whole life having to correct people when they try to spell it or pronounce it. I
didn't want to have my kids suffer that either.

I love the names Sophie and Emma, as well, and always have. They've been ruined for me, though, and now I can never give those names to my children.

I wouldn't want my child to be one of many among their peers. I have an unusual name, and I will probably give my children a name of distinction as well.

I like middle of the road names--not trendy and weird, but also not really really popular.

I like good, strong names...and while I have liked some popular names, I would never choose them. I like for my child to be unique in that way.
My baby's name was more popular in the 80's and early 90's, and thats fine with me!

when i got my 2 kittens i wanted to give them short but actually HUMAN names. It was HARD finding names that I like and my gf too! They're like our own
babies, at the end we called them Clay and Liam.

I was never a big fan of popular names, but I ended up naming my son Zachary. The new baby is either going to be Connor or Shyla, so one common, one not.

I don't think I'd ever name my kids popular names. I had a popular name and I hated it. I once had a class with only 5 girls in it and 3 of us had the
same name.

The popular names like emma, sophia, mia, olivia are very common now, but they are so pretty and better than naming your kid somethig dumb like honor or zuma
lol. My favorite girl names are gianna, gabriella, adriana, names like that, and for boys I like common names too like vincent, frank, carmine, joey, john.

My name was popular in the late 80s/90s but seems to be pretty unpopular now. It never bothered me, even when I was one of four girls in the class with the
same name.
I've never really thought about it, but I don't think I'll worry too much about if a name is popular or not. I don't care either way, as long as the kid isn't named Table or something like that. |

brneyechick82 wrote:I kind of agree. Although I wonder if the familiarity factor is part of the reason why I like most of the top names. They just sound familiar and easy to the ears lol I have a very hard time liking names that are uncommon. I just feel like they don't flow as well when you say them out loud. Then on the other hand, it would kind of suck if my kid was in a class with 5 other kids sharing the same name. But then again, the current top list does have a lot of very pretty names compared to the 80s and 90s. Anywayz, I'm rambling. |

I don't like popular names even though I named 2 of my kids fairly popular names (I'm not even getting into that). I grew up with a very uncommon name.
I didn't like having a weird name but at the same time I loved that when someone said my name I knew they were talking to me. Now I've grown to love my
name.
