My phone hasn't been acting right for a while now. I took it to the beach and it's got sand stuck in it and now my scroller ball doesn't work
properly. Also, it's ALWAYS freezing. I pay for insurance and think I need to get a new phone. How do I do that? Will I be able to?

Don't tell them you got sand stuck in it. Just tell them all the shit that's wrong with it and they'll probably let you. You have to pay a
deductable tho.
Or you could fake lose it. |

Should be able to. There is a phone number to call, or you can do it online. The Insurance is Asurian I believe. 50 Dollar deductible when I did it last year.
They sent me a refurbished phone that broke the first chance it got, the second phone they sent, also refurbished did the same. On the 3rd try they have to
send a brand new phone which is what I got, but it was in a different color than my original (Not a problem at all). Shipping is free.

It's through Asurion. You have to make a claim through them. I had to do this last night...I got it by 1 pm today. I ordered the phone at 9:45 pm.

if you're going through insurance any story/excuse is okay. pay your deductible and you'll be on your way.
how long have you had the phone? if it's still under warranty, clean the sand out of it, the best you can and do a warranty exchange. the constant freezing should be worthy of a warranty exchange. if you've had it longer than a year, just go in, pay your $50 (or whatever your deductible is) and they'll hook you up with a new phone. you're usually only allowed 2 insurance claims/year so keep that in mind. |

It should be the same w/any carrier.. i would assume. just call customer/tech support and tell them u are having problems with the phone. do not metion the
sand. they will most likely either
a)tell you to take to an on-site tech support store so they can attempt to fix it or b) they will mail you a new phone. I tried to use the "i lost it" excuse when i had t-mobile and they asked me if i had a police report....

call customer service from your phone and tell them you want to file an insurance claim. they'll transfer you over to Asurian and you file the claim with
them. all replacement phones with verizon are $50. tell them that the phone's freezing and the trackball has been acting up for a while. they're gonna
ship you a phone and it might either be refurbished or brand new, but either way you get a year warranty for it. and if anything were to malfunction with the
replacement phone they send you call them and get another free of charge.

also you can lie and tell them that the hands free doesnt work with your cars bluetooth and they automatically send you a new one if its not over a year old.
they can't diagnose that kind of thing so they have to just give you one.
