My friend's sister had a baby. During her 20s, she was in a 6 year relationship with a guy who would not marry her even though she was completely and
totally in love with him. Let's say his name was Sean. Her baby's middle name is Sean. She says it's just a name that she likes. Is it weird to
name a baby after an ex-boyfriend?

A little, but if it's a common name I guess it's possible you just like the name. I wouldn't want to though because I would always think of him
when I heard the name and that would just be weird/sad.

I wouldn't name the baby "after" an ex, but if it's a name I liked - sure.

No, way too awkward. Unless "Sean" was the baby's grandfather (for example).

I have a weird issue concerning this. I absolutely love my ex's name. I loved it before I met said ex. Still love it. But, it was a bad relationship with a
nasty ending and I know if I use the name my friends and family will be like WTF. I don't connect the name to the ex though. Like I said, I have liked this
name since I was 10 years old-well before the dating happened.

Prob not if it was a big serious relationship, but just any old ex I prob wouldn't care. If I really like a name I would use it.

I dunno. I love the name Nolan but that was the name of my first boyfriend. Even though it was in middle school, I lived in a small town and people would talk
and everyone would assume that I named my baby after him! It's really one of my favorite names though, and I'm picky about names, especially boys, so
it kinda blows.

Only if I really liked the name. I wouldn't name my child AFTER my ex, though.
