know...I just think it's a courteous thing to do. On the day that I left, the painter came earlier than expected. When he came in, he's like
"wow...this place is really clean" and I'm like, "ummm....thanks" . It would have been nice if the people leaving my new apartment had done even
half of the cleaning that I did I hope the management company
didn't give them back any of their deposit.

Who got their deposit back, because I never have. When I had a dog, apartments always kept the deposit because of the dog, regardless of the apartment's
condition. The apartment I'm in now charges $60 just for the mandatory steam cleaning and you can't do it yourself. Even with no dog, I doubt I'm
getting my deposit back.

When I lived in my last apartment, they charged us like $200 for miscellaneous cleaning crap. I'm not expecting all of my deposit back because of that, so
I'm not going balls to the wall. Like I said, I took over someone's lease so it wasn't professionally cleaned when I moved in. They cannot charge
me for paint, carpet or general wear and tear so I'm pretty sure I'm just going to do the wipe down and a quick vacuum. Maybe windex the mirrors.

Yeah, my deposit was only $600 and since I bought I didn't need it for my new place. If it's gone, it's gone. I look at it as a sunk cost already
anyway. Definitely not taking pictures.
