In an interview from a couple of nights ago he stated that he's very happy right now and hasn't been this happy in a really long time. I think he's
at a happier place personally and that's had a great effect on his game.
Congrats to the Yankees!

That's a personal subject with me cause I struggle with finding happiness myself, for a long time, so for someone like Alex who was never really my favorite person, I'm happy FOR him that he's in a better place now. Finding that in your life isn't easy so if you can get it then more power to you. |

I think very little of him as a man, but I don't begrudge him happiness either. Good for him or anyone who can find it.

I think it's amazing what being happy with your life can do for confidence. Maybe Alex hasn't been happy for a long time, and we all think he has it
all, but obviously you can't judge by what you see on the outside. Not being happy with your life can have a huge effect on you in many different ways, I
know this personally. I think when you're in that good place everything else seems to feel right and fall into place.
I hope it happens for me soon cause seeing this side of Alex gives me a little hope, and kind of inspires me to try harder for it. |

But he had hit in October before, while he was supposedly unhappy. He had years similar to his RISP/"clutch" numbers in the regular season before
now, while he was supposedly unhappy.
He just had a bad what? 80ish? ABs (that weren't even consecutive) -- that happens in baseball, sometimes at the worst times. |

He wasn't that great. This seems like a different person.

He was pretty close.
Four out of his pre-2009 playoff series, he OPS'ed above .870 (and one of the four below, was .820 -- respectable):
With RISP, his OPS by season: 2009: .860 2008: .863 2007: 1.138 2006: .939 2005: .894 2004: .785 2003: .910 2002: 1.224 2001: 1.049 Late & Close, OPS by season: 2009: 1.222 2008: .790 2007: 1.125 2006: .970 2005: .938 2004: .796 2003: 1.112 2002: .921 2001: .876 *OPS isn't obviously flawless, but it's a good tool to a measure a player against himself. |

If he was that good I don't know why people are making a bigger deal of it now. Obviously this is very different than before. I just don't ever
remember him being like he is now in October. I used to cringe at times when he was up.

The team is winning and, honestly, he stopped being such an embarrassing, attention whoring fool.
I know it's made me like him a hell of a lot more, not having to worry about when he'll get photographed with this or talk down on players who take their kids to school instead of working out or complain that Yankee fans don't like him because he's biracial. |
