Which do you prefer and why? I'm assuming you can wear them as liners or shadows by the colors I've seen online. Is this correct? How do you apply them? Do they blend well or do you blend them at all? Do they feel heavy on your lids?

I reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally want to try them, the Paint Pot is $16.50 and the Smudge Pot is $18.00 and I don't want to spend the money if I'm going to
hate it. Then again, I don't think I want to try a used one or use a sample in the store.

Aren't Smudge Pots eyeliner? Paint Pots are totally different.

I was gonna say, I use smudge pots as eyeliner, and paint pots as bases/primers. You can use paint pots as eyecolors, too, but typically, it's bases.

I think fluid line is the MAC comparison to Smudge Pots. Paint Pots are used more for an eyeshadow base.

Two separate things. And I love Smudge Pots!

Yeah, Fluidline and Smudge Pots are eyeliner. I love paint pots. They help your eyeshadow stay on longer, and they make colors stand out more.

To answer your other questions, I apply paint pots with my finger or with a synthetic brush. I apply Smudge Pots with a eyeliner brush.

And on the days I don't want to wear eyeshadow at all, I'll put some Painterly Paint Pot on my lids, and it helps even out my skin tone, so it
doesn't look heinous. It'll even help cover up some of the worst of the dark circles under my eyes if I pat it there.
It's wondermous. Indianwood is another gorgeous one.

But they have dark ass colors in Paint Pots. How are they bases / primers?
I do get it though, I thought they were both cream/gel shadows but they aren't. |

They make dark eyeshadow bases to use with dark eyeshadows.

Right. I use Blackground (a pure black paint pot) as a base for when I do black/dark eyeshadows and I really want the colors to pop. I use Indianwood paint
pots (a deep gold) when I want gold-ish colors to pop. Soft Ochre is good for neutrals you want to pop. I have a gorgeous teal color that I will use for blues.
If you want something that will help colors pop, try NYX Jumbo sticks. I use a separate primer under them, but they are cheap (way cheaper than MAC!) and they offer great color. I use the NYX pencil in Milk (a white shade) when I want lighter colors to show up well, and it's wonderful! |

LOVE my Stila Smudge Pots. I don't think I'll use another eyeliner ever again.

Ari, you use the darker colors as a base underneath eyeshadow of a similar color.
I love my paint pots! |
