Not sure if anyone will be able to answer this, but thought it was worth a shot. 
My partner has an old iPhone and her own phone plan. Currently I am on a
family plan with my parents and don't have an iPhone, but want one, and my partner and I want to get on a family plan together - she eventually wants to
replace her iPhone but not necessarily at the same time that I get one/we start the family plan. A) Would I be able to get an iPhone at the lower price if we
go in and get a family plan and sign a contract, and B) Would my partner then be able to upgrade hers later at the lower price?
