That's happened to me in my Mazda 3, which I think is about the same size. I wasn't hydroplaning, I just lost control of the car was going too fast.
Luckily nobody was in the other lane.

When I'm driving on the highway in the rain, I tend to not drive in the far left or right lanes. That's where there seem to be more dips in the road
where large puddles form. Just my experience.

Yea, definitely a tough adjustment period.
I guess I'm understanding why so many people go so damn slow in the rain now...haha. Honestly my other car never had this problem! I never experienced that before. |

Sounds like the car is shitty. Hydroplaning only at 65 mph? That's not right.

I have a Civic. It's definitely is easy to hydroplane with if you're driving too fast, and like someone else mentioned it's like a plane in the
wind.

My bro has a Civic [the 2door] which I've driven, and it handles as well as any small car [for the most part] in rainy/bad weather.
I have a 2dr Focus and it handles around the same. Small cars just aren't premo for bad weather, lol. |

I don't think she hydroplaned.

It could have been anything - it could have been hydroplaning [sp], or it could have been just a puddle/pothole, it could have been how she reacted/was
driving, etc. Maybe the lane really just moves 2ft to the right [or whatever] and she never noticed before

I have a RAV4 and it has happened to me if I'm driving on a highway and hit spots where the edge of the lane dips and the puddles end up being deeper than
it looks. It creates a splash effect like a water ride in theme park. It can make you veer a bit. It really depends on the speed of the car and how deep the
water is that you're trying to plow through.

I have a corolla and it's pretty bad in the rain. I've never felt like I was losing control of the car though.

The lane didn't move
I don't know how I didn't pee my pants honestly. I guess it hydroplaned. |

Mine is bad in the rain too. I have learned how to "baby" it through bad weather though.

I have a civic and it's super in the winter weather. And I live in a place where we have winter roads 9 months of the year. I also splurged on really great
winter tires though too so I'm sure that helps.

You hydroplaned, going too fast over a puddle. It can happen to anyone, any car. Civics are lighter cars though, so in the snow they def. won't be all that
great. And I've had 2 civics

Just to make sure the slow lane is the right lane, right?
