Would you even be eligible to get one?
In some areas, yes, you have to be part of specific high-risk groups to be eligible for the first batches of vaccines that are available, because they are so limited in those areas. Here, they just became available at 1 clinic only for pregnant women, children ages 6 months-4years, children under 18 only with specific chronic health conditions, and then for emergency responders.
I agree, though, that if you are working closely with a pregnant woman and small children (and you work in their home, right?) that you should probably get one. Being that close with people is going to put them (and you) more at risk of sharing germs, because you are doing such close activities with them, preparing their food, etc. in their home.
A professor is slightly different, because a professor would work with older groups of people, and not within their home or with their food.
