I have a 2008 civic. I got it brand new. I will say it doesn't do well in the rain if you're driving too fast for conditions!

My A4 is pretty good about not hydroplaning but it also has very nice tires and better handling in general than a civic. But I still won't go faster than
65 when it's raining. Same with my Ford Escape.

My mom's Civic is a piece of junk but it does drive fine in the rain!

Like everyone said, it's just a lighter car. I have a Corolla and I lurve it, but it's lighter and it holds its speed really well, so you can't
really be a speed demon in the rain. And if it's really raining, driving 65 on the freeway is never a good idea.

I have a 2008 Civic and love it and have never hydroplaned with the car. I will be getting better tires for snow, but that's the nature of where I live.
It's how one drives it. It's not a sports car, doesn't drive like an SUV...it's a compact car that drives like one.

This post makes it sound like you are guaranteed to hydroplane if you drive 65 in the rain. GTFO. Be more aware of puddles and upgrade from your craptastic
stock tires.
I've been driving my mom's 2007 Civic for the last few weeks and I hate everything about it. |

I have a civic and for the first time in 10 years having this car, I got into a car accident yesterday. My civic slid right into a mini van
That's
never happened before and i've driven in the rain plenty of times. I don't know what the fuck happened.

I've driven Civics for 9 years, most of that in Seattle, and I've never had a big problem with handling them in the rain. I bet this is a fluke or at
worst, you just need to get used to driving a lighter car. It's not a defect of the car.

I had a 2 door Accord and would drive the freeways in Seattle going 80 mph in the rain. I'd hydroplane all the time. I just got used to it.

I put rain tires on my civic & they make a huge difference. I think the stock tires are not the best.

That's not the Civic's fault.

I have a Civic & I hate driving it in the rain...especially on the expressway. It veers off all the time. I set an appointment to get my wheels checked.
Maybe they need aligning....or the car could just be crappy in the rain.
I know how to drive too so that's not it. I can say I've never had a major accident or a speeding ticket in my 5 years of driving. I'm hoping it the tires or something with the wheels. I'm probably gonna trade it in. It's not exactly a new car.

yeah it's hydroplaning. it can happen to anyone but it is recommended to drive slower than 65mph (or the speed limit) when it's raining to avoid
hydroplaning.

I have a 2007 Civic and have never had a problem either. I just drove it in very heavy rain. I had a grand am before, so maybe I'm used to smaller cars
though.
