I'm just speechless Woman Crossing Railroad Tracks Hit By TrainDERRY TWP. (KDKA) ―
A mother and her three children were trying to walk across the railroad tracks behind the Dollar General in Derry Township when they were hit. The coroner has been called to the scene. No other details are available at this point. AND COME ON NOW Who tagged this up top

I don't understand the idea of crossing tracks!
Earlier this year I was on a train to New Haven and was delayed 2 hours because some dude got hit by our train. He was trying to cheat across the tracks on his bike and didn't see the train. I was sitting toward the front and could see the aftermath. Shit fucked with my head for weeks. |

^He probably did hear it and thought he could beat the train.. just a thought.. I just don't understand people sometimes.. WHY WHY WHY would you go on the
tracks to cross with children? Why?

Well it's their fault for trying to beat the train. Why don't people understand that because it's so huge, the sense of speed is off?

Mother, Child Hit By Train In Derry Posted: 6:31 pm EDT October 30, 2009Updated: 9:11 pm EDT October 30, 2009 WESTMORELAND COUNTY, Pa. -- At least one person was hit and killed by a train in Derry Borough Friday evening. Police said a mother and three children were walking along the tracks near Chestnut Street when the accident happened just after 5 p.m. The woman was leaving the Dollar General store with some groceries and took two of her children across the tracks and had them stand on the other side while she went back to get a stroller with a baby in it, officials said. The Derry Police Chief said he yelled to the woman to not cross the tracks because a train was coming but he said she continued to cross anyways. As the woman was crossing, the fire chief said, the stroller got caught in the tracks and both were hit by the train. At least one person was killed. Here is a update : Mother & Baby killed by train!!
A mother and her baby were killed today in Derry Borough when the woman attempted to cross a set of railroad tracks with a baby stroller and was struck by an oncoming freight train. Borough police Chief Randolph Glick was nearby at the time and saw the train coming and attempted to warn the woman, but he was not able to prevent the accident, said borough Mayor Susan E. Bortz. The woman and the child were struck about 5 p.m. by a westbound Norfolk Southern freight train, Ms. Bortz said. Two other children who were with the woman were not injured, but witnessed the accident and were taken to a local hospital, said Dan Stevens, a spokesman for the Westmoreland County Department of Public Safety. Please tell me that I'm not the only one who saw Derry and Haven and immediately thought that the story took place in Maine because of Stephen King?
Please? What a horrible story though....I wonder if Mom was drunk or something? Trains generally make ALOT of racket....I can hear the train whistles from a couple miles away....what happened with her? |
