I just got Snow White and Pinocchio on Blu-Ray. Snow White is so good! I cried at the end. Now I need to own them all.

It's fun until you run into one that you REALLY want but it's in the vault.

I don't understand the point of the vault.

Buy two copies and then sell one about a year after they're in the vault. Sometimes I wish I had a few extra vaulted titles.
I hate the goddamn vault, but from a marketing standpoint, it's quite brilliant. People may not rush to buy a DVD that's gonna be available forever, but if they think it's gonna get pulled any second now, they'll make double sure they buy it. (And some make sure to buy multiple copies so they can sell them for $50 once they're vaulted. )

I hate that dumb vault too. I'm waiting for Beauty and the Beast and still kicking myself for not getting it years ago

I'm so disappointed in the new Snow White release. All the REALLY good stuff is on the Blu-Ray version - very little of it will be ported over to the DVD.
I'm not even sure the DVD's gonna get a good making-of. Makes me glad I have the original DVD. Hell, that first Snow White DVD is the reason I even
WANTED a damn DVD player!

Woohoo I've been waiting for Fantasia! I just checked and Sleeping Beauty is still available.
Is there anything different on the Blu-ray compared to the DVD's? Is anyone going to start collecting the Blu-ray editions? |

raWrr222 wrote:The Blu-ray has superior picture and lots of extras. And so far, the Blu-ray editions of the classic films include a regular dvd of the movie. So it makes more sense to buy Blu-ray because you get 2 copies of the movie. And Blu-ray goes back in the vault, too. |

If a Blu-Ray and/or DVD is a 2-Disc set, the Blu-Ray and DVD combo packs only include the first disc of the DVD. That's the downside - to watch the
bonuses, you have to watch them on the TV with a Blu-Ray player, which is usually the one in the living room.

I refuse to spend a lot of money on Blu-Ray players/discs, so I'll stick to DVDs.

I bought Snow White on Blu Ray for like $10. I haven't watched it yet though but I hear it's amazing.
