5th grade. He apparently left early one day last week (after the 12:00 cut-off to be counted as present) and turns out he has strep! The doctor said he must
have just ignored the pain because it was so far into it, it was already clearing up on it's own. This kid is weird

Aww, I hope he feels better! I remember in high school, they gave out awards for attendance and I swear, I kid you not.. one guy I knew never missed a day of
school ever. I mean, throughout all of school, never missed a day. Have no idea how that is even possible.

We had one kid in our class like that too -- perfect attendance from kindergarten through 12th grade.
I thought it was sad. I love school and value education, but sometimes a kid needs to skip. |

I can't fathom that. There was a period of time where I was missing like 17 days a quarter!

My parents wouldn't let me skip school even if I was sick. They'd make me go and if I threw up at school or something, they'd come to pick me up.
However a couple times they let me skip to go on vacations...go figure.

My daughter had only missed a couple of days of school total and then she hit he sophomore year of high school and got mono. That ended that streak as she was
out for over two weeks.

Did your parents just not have anybody to watch you or something?

My parents wouldn't let me stay home unless I was really sick and I was rarely sick so I had perfect attendance almost every year. Might've missed 5-10
days total, ever. College was an entirely different story

I remember high school graduation, they recognized this one girl who had NEVER missed a day of school, EVER. We gave that bitch a standing O.

I only missed a couple days in kindergarten when my grandma died, and then I can't remember missing another day until my sophomore year in high school...my
mom let me leave early to go to an *NSync concert.
Being home was boring...my mom would make my sisters sleep and they couldn't even watch that much tv! |

I had nearly perfect attendence all through elementry.
I missed maybe a
week when I had the chicken pox in 2nd grade, and one other day to go to my grandmothers funeral in 3rd grade. Other than that it was perfect! In jr. high and
high school, I missed more often cause I got braces and had dentist appointments all the damn time. Oh, and I skipped a day in eighth grade to buy nsync fan
club tickets downtown. But thats pretty much it. In college, I took
the 2 allowed absences we were given, but never more. I'm pretty good with attendence.

I could barely go a week without missing at least one class in high school. I remember being being proud of myself when I went a couple weeks without missing.
Although this semester I haven't missed a single class yet. *knocks on wood* |
