That happened to me last year, this year I didn't even try -- I didn't buy and candy and just kept my porch light off. My waistline can not afford for
me to have 2 lbs of Halloween candy left over!

kid's can't even walk to school anymore, without being kidnapped...
And some think they're too old & would rather have parties now days.

It was quiet all over i think. A lot of people around here said they kept the kids home mostly, due to the H1N1 hubbub.

After 14, I thought we were running low on candy so I went out and got two more bags. We didn't get a 15.

Keeping kids from trick or treating because of the flu? That's one of the lamest excuses. We had a ton of trick or treaters here. It wasn't as much as
in the past, but I was still going pretty steady at the door for 2 hours.

Well I think logically it depends on where you live right?
My sister lives in a very family-oriented neighbourhood and she said she had around 100 kids, and my mother lives about 2 miles from her in a newer development and she had around 60. I however live in a high rise condo and we don't get trick or treaters at all and my neighbourhood instead encourages people to come to our neighbourhood community centre and hand out candy there instead and they have fun activities for the kids to do. Keeps them off the streets as our neighbourhood is much more busy with traffic etc. |

I completely agree...they should, but some choose not to.

seems like there are no kids in my neighborhood anymore who trick or treat so we stopped buying candy last year. They all go to their church or to the shopping
malls around here now. When I was a kid there was always what seemed like hundreds of us roaming the neighborhood on Halloween

We have a considerable amount of kids in the area and there's an elementary school just a block away. Me and my husband went outside with our bucket of
candy and 85% of our neighbors had their porch lights off......oh well I won't make the same mistake next year!

i went down the street to Hancock Park to take my bf's niece and nephews treat or treating and there was so many people, who obviously had commuted over.
So maybe there's where your trick or treaters went.

My mom gets so excited for trick or treaters, but then we NEVER get more than three. It makes me sad for her.

My mom ended up giving an entire bucket full of candy to a friends' kids because only a few trick or treaters showed up. To the kids, it was the equivalent
of winning the lottery.

We took my daughter towards the end and she got a ton of candy. People were trying to get rid of it all.
