My niece was born at around 33 weeks. She weighed 4 lbs 3 oz, and she is now in the 6th grade, perfectly healthy and super-intelligent. Everything will be
fine!

I was born at 36 weeks. I had to stay in the hospital for a few weeks, but I'm alive and kicking.

My baby sister was born over a month early, she was about four pounds. She's healthy, although still small for her age. And very smart.

I know of someone who was born at 25 weeks who is a very healthy active child now
Also babies in those weeks you are mentioning! All did just fine! They are little fighters and tough little things even though they don't seem like it! They will surprise you if you do delivery early. Most scary part is how tiny they are and seeing the machines and the worry you as a parent feel! NICU programs and medicine are wonderful now. Just relax and take it one day at a time. Each day will help Take care of yourself and try to be calm and stress free and it will help your little one.

My mom's blood pressure was high too with my sister, I believe. I think a month or two after she gave birth she ended up having a heart attack.
I'm not sure if this was due to complications in the pregnancy or Diabetes. |

Three of my friends were born earlier than that, and they're all healthy 20-somethings now.
Actually, one of them is a twin.
I was born at 37 weeks, and I'm fine! Just don't worry too too much, relax. I hope it works out for you! |

My son was born at 35 weeks, we only made 35 weeks by 4 hours, otherwise 34. He was 4 pounds 7 ounces, but he had IUGR. He was in the NICU for 10 days,
mostly for feeding issues. He's going to be 1 year on the 20th and he's fine.
The only problems we still have is he's about a month behind developmentally, but that's normal for preemies, and he has reactive airways, but Asthma runs in my family. It's not ideal but 34 weeks have a very high chance of survival and being okay. A couple of days after he was born:
And at Halloween:

I was born at about 31 weeks (2 months early). 3 lbs 2 oz. I had to spend pretty much two months in NICU. After my mom and dad brought me home, I got sick
(respiratory problems) and dropped under 3 lbs. BUT...I turned out fine.

He should be just fine. He might need to stay in the NICU for a bit (and they might whisk him away after delivery, so be prepared for that if they do). Good
luck and all the best!

I know two babies born premature and who have turned out healthy. Medicine has come a LONG way in the last ten years, in terms of NICU advancements.
One baby was born at 32 weeks and he was never even on more than oxygen, was scooting around his little incubator, very vigorous from day one. He is now a very healthy, happy 4th grader. The other baby is my boyfriend's ex wife. She just had a baby a little over a month ago, and she was only about 35 weeks when he was delivered. She started leaking amniotic fluid at 34 weeks, so she was hospitalized on bedrest for almost a week. Then she started losing too much fluid and her temp started going up, so they delivered her son, and he was on oxygen and in the NICU for almost two weeks. Once he hit 5 lbs and was taking at least 2 oz per feeding, he went home. He's doing very well now, growing like a weed and no health problems that we know of. I know it's scary, but they say anything past 25 weeks is considered viable, so you have a very good running start! |

My son was born at 34 weeks. He was 5 lbs and 12 oz. He had to be fed through a tube in his nose for a few days because he hadn't yet learned how to suckle
and he had jaundice for 2 weeks, but those were his only complications from being born early. He's 14 and taller than me now!!

My youngest son was born at 28 weeks. He was 2 pounds 7 ounces. Every baby is different of course but he didn't need oxygen or anything. He was just so
tiny he stayed in the NICU a little over a month. He also started breastfeeding early too so he didn't need the feeding tube much.

My cousin was born at 26 weeks and she's fine now. She had a tough go at it for a while, but she's ok. She was about 12 inches tall and a pound or so.
She's 19 now.
