How was it? Were you in a lot of pain afterwards? I have one on Monday and I'm nervous.

They found cancerous cells. Yes. They need to take them out. What's with the "wow"?

Oh man, you are making me nervous now! I went for a colposcopy last Tuesday and everything looked ok, but I'm getting my results back this coming
Tuesday. I hope that everything is ok! :/
I hope that it goes ok. Was that the only option that your gyno gave you? Because there are other options that you could do. |

It was the next step in the process. They said they have to get rid of the bad cells. I'm really nervous. I have to be put under and need someone to drive
me home and everything.

Oh, wow, sorry to hear that. Hope everything turns out okay. I've never had one done, so I can't really help.

I haven't had it done, but my friend did and it was a painful procedure, yes, but she was not in a lot of pain afterward. She said it was more of a
discomfort, but it went away after a day or so.

Did you do a LEEP procedure first?
I'm just asking you because my friend had the same thing and she didn't end up getting the cone biopsy, she got the LEEP procedure instead - and it wasn't as invasive. |

Thanks. And I don't really give a shit if it's personal information. It's JJB.

Wildcat, is it a LEEP? If so, I had no pain after mine! Don't be nervous. Are they knocking you out? My doctor puts all of her patients out for it, but I
know some dont...

I don't know what a LEEP is. But I don't think it's that. They said cone biopsy.

There's multiple types of LEEP procedure and I'm positive a cone is one. The section they needed to remove on me was very small so they only used a hot
wire. I believe a cone is used for a larger portion.
Don't worry though you'll be fine Just have lots of pads ready for the weeks following...

I distinctly remember my friend getting a cone-shaped piece of tissue removed during her LEEP, so maybe it's the same thing? In which case it wasn't
all that painful - just kind of uncomfortable.

Oh okay. Well good. I won't be able to use tampons or have sex for 4-6 weeks, which kinda sucks.

My sister had a cone biopsy done about 2 months ago. She was up and walking 2 hours later and chasing her kids again the next day. And I think she only took
the painkillers for about 2 days. She said it wasn't nearly as bad as she thought it would be and she's a baby when it comes to pain.
I hope it all works out for you.

Oh and my friend has gone back for regular checkups and hasn't had any cancerous cells since the procedure.
