I'd say about $300. I live with my sister, but my boyfriend basically lives here too.
And that includes breakfast lunch and dinner 4-5 times a week. We go out with my parents once a week and have dinner with my aunt once a week. but we each take breakfast and lunch to work. (we rotate who pays each time we go to the store) |

My staples - Veg - corn, broccoli, lettuce, cherry tomatoes, baby carrots, celery, green beans Fruit - oranges, apples, bananas, grapes(sometimes raspberries or blackberries) Other - white bread, bagels, cheese(block and slices), chicken legs, bologna, milk, some types of fish, rarely beef but I don't really eat that, chocolate, Simply Orange oj, Arizona raspberry iced tea, cocoa rice crispies, pasta and then I just add whatever I come across. |

I still don't get it. Idky. I mean even in the recipie section of those mom magazines like Women's Day or whatever it's like a feature article on
how to feed a family a four a balanced meal (dinner) for like $10.00. That's one meal- a chicken, veggies and rice lets say. How do some of you eat $40 a
month? I am not mocking - just amazed. It's hurting my head.
For the people who live at home - when you buy food for yourself- do you pick on what your parents bought? For example- you buy your kind of cereal but use their milk? I bought green peppercorns the other day and it was $8 for the stinking jar. I needed 2 TBS for my sauce. ARRRGH! |

Mushrooms! Omg why haven't I been buying those?! I also forgot alcohol - we usually just keep vodka around to mix with juice and then I'll get beer
here and there. Junk food adds up so fast!

I don't see how it's possible to live off of $60 in one month. Is this super cheap stuff you buy or what? When we go grocery shopping every two weeks we get apples, oranges, salad type of veggies, chicken, ground beef, like 4 boxes of cereal (that's what we eat every morning), eggs, bread, bagels, dog food, 3 jugs of juice, 2 gll milk, cheese,...and that's basically what we ALWAYS get.... |

That's weird your EBT doesn't roll over because mine does.
For 3 people, we spend a little over $300/month. A lot of our money goes to drinks, which sucks. My boyfriend drinks A LOT of coke. |

For myself I spend about $160-200 a month at the grocery store. But that includes groceries and household items like cleaning supplies and TP.

Holy fuck, either groceries are super cheap in the US or you guys are bullshitting.
I live alone, only eat out once a week with the bf, I cook every day and I eat strictly healthy foods so no chips or cookies or desserts. And I'm spending at least $250/month. |
