Sometimes when I'm hanging out with a guy who isn't my boyfriend, I text my boyfriend and say "Do I need to leave? Are you mad?"

I'm still nice! But only to normal people who deserve it.

It would have been perfectly honest to say "hey, I'm going to spend the night at my FRIENDS house." No one is saying you have to do it behind is back. And if he is uncomfortable with you hanging out with someone you were friends with long before him, then he (and anyone else who would have a similar problem) has insecurity issues. My best friend is a guy. I've been friends with him for almost 10 years now and he's like my brother. Like I said earlier, I'll be dammed if any boyfriend is going to try to give me attitude or have an issue with me hanging out with him or spending the night on his couch. |

My fiance wanted to spend the night with Eva Longoria, but I was against it.

He's never met this person before, he doesn't know our history (there's isn't one but he doesn't know that). I'm sure he'd be pissed if he later found out I was sleeping over a guy's house. Good for you for doing what you do, but that can't always happen so early in a relationship. |

^ Obviously you would include he was a guy. Good lord, don't be so dense.
It's just beyond ridiculous to let a boyfriend dictate the way you do things when you're doing absolutely nothing wrong. Who cares if he's a guy...he's your FRIEND. If any guy is going to care about their girlfriend hanging out with their friend, who happens to be a guy, who they were friends with long before, then that guy has insecurity issues. Is this your first boyfriend? It sounds like it. |
