"I fell in love with this person," she tells Diane Sawyer in an interview that aired on Good Morning America Thursday. "That's embarrassing." That's the best line ever!

She probably still has feelings for him, but being a public figure helps keep her away from him. I really think she is very brave to talk about domestic violence so honestly. |

Edit: There are far more horrible pictures from other victims of domestic violence. Men, women and children. This picture isn't so bad compared to others.

Brave? Hardly. They're still calling/texting each other and seeing each other. Now she's acting all like she's against domestic violence.
"Brave" would be killing him or leaving him. |

I don't think I've ever heard her speak. And I'm glad. She sounds so incredibly stupid and just...uneducated. I can't explain it, but she
sounds dumb and that she doesn't even know what she's saying, only that she knows she's supposed to say it.

I think she's saying what she thinks people want to hear but I doubt she means it.

Actually since it's Rihanna...less singing would be better. She sounds like a whiny cat half the time.

I'd rather her talk about it now (especially since she's had some time and distance from that night) rather than call a random press conference/interview to talk about her abuse. At least this way, it's a part of a bigger promotional period, instead of the sole focus. Exactly, I'm sure she decided that if she was going to talk about it, this was the best time rather than calling a press conference out of the blue. To me, the whole "she was abusive to him too!" or "she went back to him!" is just a way of underhandedly saying that she somehow deserved to get her face beat in. Most women don't leave their partners immediately after getting abused. There was a thread here yesterday by a girl who's getting emotionally abused by her boyfriend (in my opinion) and all she can talk about is a way to fix him. It's harder than people want to believe. Absolutely. I'm repeatedly amazed at the responses I see on this board about certain issues and this post is a perfect example. Does Rihanna deserve less sympathy because she's a celebrity? |

With the exception of fashion, everything was better in the 90s.

I very much have sympathy for her and the whole situation. Abso-freaking-lutely. No one, I don't care who you are, deserves to go through that. That
doesn't mean I still have to believe what is coming out of her mouth. And I don't. I can't speak for anyone but myself but it was an awful
situation and they do need to be apart but I don't believe what she's saying.

You can believe I wouldn't wanna be in the same state with him much less the same room. I don't care if she's a celebrity or just regular Jane from down the street. She hasn't been acting like someone who's a victim of abuse. She's been hanging out with Chris, going to clubs with him. Now she's got an album coming out and she decides to take a stand & play the spokeswoman for domestic violence? I'm just not buying it.

I also think it's quite insulting to her fans, her potential fans, the average consumer, etc. that now when she has an album out she suddenly wants to take
a stand? She suddenly wants to be a voice against domestic violence and say how she realizes she is a role model, blah blah. Give me a break. And get to fuck
out of here with that bullshit.
I wish people would just stop supporting Chris Brown AND Rihanna all together. And that doesn't mean I in any way think Rihanna deserved to be beat up. But she's weak (and I don't care what the excuse is) and gives women a bad name. I sound incredibly bitchy, but I really dont have too much sympathy for women who go back to their men who beat them. That's great that it's tough and it's not that easy to walk away, etc. But a lot of things in life aren't easy, that's not an excuse. Women need to stand up for themselves and not even put up with it for one second. Her actions just give millions of other women the "ok" to do the same thing, and it's sad that people idolize her, give her awards and throw their money at her. And obviously Chris Brown is a worthless piece of scum...I don't even need to adddress that.
