She's going to come. She's traveling right now but gets home tomorrow. I guarantee that by Sunday, she'll have Aunt Jen roped again.

I get where you're coming from Nancy, but they both obviously knew they weren't welcome from the get-go. At first I was thinking it's because Aunt
Jen felt bad.. but now it doesn't make sense.. which is why I asked.
Not to mention the fact that I just can't see Mrs. conceding so easily when her sister just says "oh I had a change of heart.. I'm not going". |

This is my suggestion to you Mands if shit hits the fan & she says she is going again. Don't cancel the trip but you and your husband convince the MIL
and Aunt that you are no longer going. I'd also recommend telling your daughter the same thing. I know it would hurt her at first b.c she is looking
forward to it but in the end on the day you leave she won't be sad about it anymore.
You guys deserve a family vacation and you really have to put your foot down with it. Convince everyone that you guys aren't going but still keep the trip scheduled. |

Wow. There's a whole lot of passive aggressive drama up in here.
I can't believe I read all 20 pages. |

I know this is going to be an unpopular opinion, but I would just let her come and drop it. You already invited other family members to come along. and
it's really to hard to say, "Ok...you and you can come, but you can't. Sorry." Even if there are extenuating circumstances and other
problems, it's really hard to go about it without causing trouble. It's going to suck, but I would just make sure that you have time for just the three
of you throughout the vacation. Sorry about everything. I know about annoying mother-in-laws

Creamie only likes that idea because it'll feel kinda like kidnapping when you tell the kid you're not going and then snatch her up in the middle of
the night to go anyway.

Well the MIL isn't getting the hint one way or the other & it would be better than canceling everything.

It's like a dead issue. I know she'll end up there one way or the other.. no matter what I say, no matter what I like. I get it. I just wanted to tell you guys that as of right now, she says she's not going. |

I just hope that seeing as you were able to dump her bucket here over it, you'll be able to get some enjoyment from your vacation at least and make lemons out of lemonade and have at least a day or two. But I'm sure you'll also lay the law down to that husband yours that this will NOT happen again!!
