I don't like this feeling. I mean I love my roomie and shit but you know sometimes, I just like to go out w/ other friends. I'm goin out w/ one of my
friends and I feel the need to ask my roomie if she wants to come with (partly b/c my friend asked about her too).

Why do you have to invite her? It's not necessary.

Hmm, tough situation. If your friend hadn't of asked about her I would say you have no obligation but since she did, I feel like you should.

You shouldn't have to invite her.

Now I kind of do though, since my friend asked about her! I mean I feel like if I didn't, that'd be pretty shitty. Wouldn't it?

Is your roommate inviting herself along or asking you if she can come?

if she asked about her and you didn't invite...that would be shitty.

I feel like that sometimes too. But as of this semester, I've stopped just because I don't really care anymore. lol

You're really a nice roomie, OP. Your consideration will come back to you. Good karma.

Why didn't your friend ask her?

Do people normally ask about her, i.e. is she popular with your friends, or do you just invite her to be all inclusive?

No, my friend asked about my roomie and at the time I said I didn't know (cause I didn't) but now she's coming w/ cause I told her about it.

Does she not fit into your crowd of friends? Idk, but I'm sensing a deeper issue here than just the energy output of inviting someone out places.

I felt that way with one of my roommates, too. She was a nice girl, and I liked hanging out with her, but I also had other friends that I wanted to do stuff
with sometimes. If she knew I was getting ready to go out, she'd kind of hang around asking questions...trying to lead me into an invitation.

No I just invite her to be inclusive, so she's not sitting at home! But we also hang out together too. And now she's friends w/ my a couple of my
friends b/c I introduced them (which is cool). I don't go out THAT often but when I do, I invite her. Oh and there's no deeper issue. Stop trying to
read into it like that
I don't want to feel like I have to include her with everything I do...if that makes sense. Okay, I know that sounds hella mean but I swear I'm not trying to be mean. |

I don't think it's mean. I don't want to spend every single second of my life with ANY one person.
