And I'm usually not one to get jealous over this stuff. But now, my friend just got engaged and I've been with my boyfriend longer. For the first time
ever I feel kind of mad/upset, like what the hell is taking my boyfriend so long

I know what you mean. I'm just waiting for my friend with committment issues who just started dating this guy to get engaged before me, after I have been
with my BF forever. I'll probably freak a little.

I have random days where I'm like "It has to happen soon! I need to get started on babies!" But then most days I'm just like Eh, whatever.
It's a lot of work anyway.

I'm in the same boat. Most of my friends and several family members (my brother and several of my cousins) got either engaged, married, or pregnant in the
past year. I swear I will be the only single one over the age of 18 at Thanksgiving dinner and I know I will be constantly asked if I have a BF

I only have 2 friends that aren't married/engaged/living with their SO. I've only been with mine for 5 months so it's not like we're ready for
any of that but I'm still a bit jealous.

It's starting to get to me too. A friend has been with her boyfriend for a year and a half, and has lived with him since they were only three months into
dating. He just bought her ring, and is waiting to propose (but it will be soon, before Christmas probably). I've been with my boyfriend for twice as
long, and we haven't lived together yet. She has endometriosis, so I can't really get all jealous about it, because her doctors have told her she needs
to start a family soon if she ever wants one. But still...

I know what you mean, OP, as far as "waiting" to be asked to get married. I've been with my BF for a little over 2 1/2 years and I'm always
thinking are you ever going to ask me to marry you, or am I wasting my time?
But I'm not jealous of my friends who are married because I have a diverse group of friends: One has been married for 3 years with a 3 year old daughter. They only got married because she got pregnant. Yep, not jealous of that. One has been married for 3 years and has 3 toddlers who are a major handful. One has been marred for 1 year and they got engaged after only 6 months of dating. One is a 27 year old virgin who's never had a serious BF. One is single, but she dates around a lot. One has been living with her BF a few years. One has been engaged for 6 years and they have a 4 year old child together. |

I get upset sometimes as well - most b/c my bf and I have been together for 6.5 years and we still aren't engaged and don't live together. We talk
about it, but the timing just isn't great right now - but i'm getting SO tired of waiting.
My younger sister just got together with her ex-bf, and I'm anticipating it is only a matter of time before they're all "LETS GET MARRIED, LETS MOVE IN TOGETHER, LETS HAVE BABIES", and it will totally bum me out if she gets married before me
It also doesn't help that two of my high school friends just had babies and more are getting married. |

You guys who are waiting to be proposed to need to talk to your bfs about this... don't just sit there and wait.. discuss it. See where he is at the
moment..
