Instead of using the last name (which is all throughout), or "him" and "his". I'm running out of ideas. I've used "the young
voyager" and "the 22 year old" and now i'm stumped. I'm doing an essay on Chris McCandless from "Into The Wild."

Is this for an English class? If not, I think using the character's last name should suffice.

I ask because I hate how I'll use his last name and immediately in the next or following sentence, his name is there again. It seems way too redundant.

I love that book! Look up some articles written about him and see how other authors handled it.
