My mom's epidural only worked on her left side. One of my cousins had a headache so bad she had to stay in the hospital

Epidurals can be quite dangerous.

With my first kid, the epidural was HEAVEN! I was so numb I couldn't even tell if I was pushing when it came time to.
With my second kid, however, some of the fluid leaked while I was getting it
and I got the worst headache you can ever imagine for an entire week. Now I'm skeptical about whether or not I'd ever get another one.

My mom just told me hers went wrong for my brother and sister, and she couldn't lift her head for a week because of the headache. Her head would just droop
down. The doctor said that she could either wait and it would get better in 3 weeks, or they could do a reverse epidural and draw fluid from the spine, and she
did that.

Apparently epidurals can cause long term back pain/problems. I don't remember where I heard that but if it's true that would be something to make me
consider not getting it.

I like how the nurse keeps telling her to take a nap.

I barely made it through having my daughter with the epidural. I'm pretty sure I would have killed myself without it
I was terrified though since my mom had two bad experiences with it. With my brother she got extremely sick and was throwing up the entire time she was having the baby. With my sister (c-section) the stupid doctor didn't give her enough so when they started cutting her stomach she felt every single thing. She started screaming and freaking out so much they had to knock her out. I ended up seeing my sister before my mom did because she was still knocked out for a good hour after she was born. |
