One of my professors expects us to read seven 20 page articles each week before class. We also have an assignment due every week for the rest of the semester.
Like really, does he think we don't have four other classes to keep up with!?!

Yes, but I'm better for it. My professor (I took five classes from her, actually) made us write 47 papers per class. She had us travel, on our own dime,
and contribute to the small town newspapers around the area. And we still had reading to do. When I took two of her classes, I had four part-time jobs. She
worked the shit out of us, but I'm so much better for her pushing me.

Yes, I took this random 100-level class for a bullshit elective and it's the hardest class I've ever taken in my life. WTF.

Yes, one of my professors (in my major) expected so much out of us, we had scenes due every week and had to rehearse a minimum of 15 hours a week so it was
hard to get people to be in our scenes because they knew that it was a time consuming process. With every scene we did (weekly) we had to do a complete back
history of characters, our vision for the scenes, make a mock up blue print for our set design, sketch costumes, etc. (these were directing classes).
We also had readings, papers, outside activities, and just general studies that went along with the scenes, rehearsals and paperwork. Not to mention as a part of our major we had to be involved in other productions and backstage crew so she knew we were all overworked as it was, but she didn't let up. Everyone in the class struggled, 4-6 days to prepare a scene and do all the back history was not an easy task. Everyone in her classes complained throughout the semester(s) that they were tired, overworked, hated the class, etc. but we all know we learned our work ethic from her classes. We learned how to deal with stress and how to be a all-in-one type of director. I took 5 classes with her and was exhausted by the time I graduated but I was thankful to have that kind of experience because it was practical experience (I wasn't a happy camper at the time, but hindsight is 20/20). Professors all expect you to give 100% to their class no matter what else you have going on in school or in your life in general, that's what makes college challenging (figuring out how to juggle it all). |

when I walk into a class and the professor starts listing unbelievable amounts of work that needs to be done throughout the semester and its not a necessary
course to take to graduate- I walk out, drop it and never go back. I did that for a Spanish course in college..when I walked in he spoke spanish only and all
the kids seemed to understand. I thought "uh oh" and that was it for that course lol. I also did the same for macro/micro economics. I was going to
major in business and thought it wasn't worth it.

Nothing as bad as any of these stories. I mean I have had moments of "wow this sucks!" but nothing too extreme

I never read all the pages. I'd skim through them.
