she's mad at me. I picked her up from her house to take her to meet her boyfriend. Her 4 year old son was screaming b/c she took away his marble, so she
was trying to get him in my car. She was screaming at him and then hugged him really tight and told him to stop screaming. Then she spanked him 3 times which
made him cry harder. So she smacked him in the face and pushed him into the back seat. I had to actually grab her arms and push her out of the car so she would
stop pushing him. Then we drove the 20 minutes to meet her boyfriend in silence. The only thing she said to me the whole way was "I wasn't gonna hurt
him". Now she won't talk to me.

Really wasn't going to hurt him? What do you call smacking a child in the face?

Spanking him on the butt three times was sufficient. But seriously, I wouldve slapped the hell out of her if I saw her slap her kid in the face and push him.

The hugging tight part was weird. It was like she was trying to suffocate him or something.

and this is why some people should not have children.
have you seen this behavior before from her towards her son? i would watch carefully from now on and if you suspect anything, get someone involved. the 4 yr old does NOT deserve that. |

She screams at him a lot, but I've never seen her touch him. That was just too far for me. The spanking was enough. but the smacking and the pushing...I
was just like "no fucking way man". And the tight hug part I think was so she could chill out a little bit. She was shaking pretty bad from being
pissed....i dunno. it was messed up.

She probably is mad because she knows she was wrong to do that. If she's not fucking stupid, she'll thank you.

She's not talking to you out of embarrassment. She'll either get over it and speak to you like it never happened.....or never speak to you again.
No matter what she does....you were not wrong. |

Did you pull her off in a "omg what are you doing stop" kind of way or was it a "you're doing it wrong, let me, I have rings, etc."
kind of way?

People like that get mad when people intervene because they don't like others telling them how to "raise their child." That's all that is.
How old is she btw? |

I'm sure she wasn't talking to because she was embarrassed by how out of control she was. But, she won't ever admit that. I would imagine she will
always say that she wasn't going to hurt him. It's hard to admit when your emotions get out of control like that.
I don't blame you for stepping in. All of that would be too much for me to watch my friend do to their child. |

And he's a pretty good kid. He is hyper as hell, but he's a good kid. And she could have just given him his marble back b/c that's where it all
started.

B/c it was her stepdaughter's marble...and he had been playing with it for like 20 minutes while i was watching him outside. I told her that madison said
it was ok for him to play with it and she said it wasn't b/c it wasn't his and took it, so madison wouldn't get mad. then all hell broke loose.

sounds like a crappy mom w/o the violent tendencies. Add in the violence, and I would call dcfs or whatever your state has. you can do it anonymously.
Don't let it get worse.
