Sure you bleed, but for me it was like a normal period. Regular always thin pads were enough and it stopped within 2 weeks. After my csection I was in terrible pain for weeks. I could not walk till the day after, and it still killed me. They put a catheter in me after the birth. They would put bed mats under my butt to bleed on and come in and change it every hour or so. Which hurt moving me around because I couldn't even sit up by myself. The bleeding continued for 4 months. And it was extremely heavy. In the mornings, it would run down my leg onto the floor all the way to the bathroom. And that was with a thick ass pad, underwear and shorts on. I thought I was going to die. Also, the staples you get with csections pull your skin tight and you feel like your guts are going to fall out.

I didn't even mention what goes on WHILE they are ripping this thing out of your stomach. I wish I could go back in time and be put to sleep.

They made me wear a HUGE maxi pad though. I had no idea those things came in that big. And I felt so good after having my daughter. I was drugged up but not to the point where I was high. They were just giving me pain relievers through an IV. You have to take a dump before leaving though. No dump. No going home.

I healed REALLY fast but the recovery part was so hard. I could barely walk whenever I had a full bladder. And my tits grew to a F or G cup. They were bigger than my head and there was so much milk.

But I think the pain meds kept me constipated because they took me off for one day and that evening I went a little. They kept me for a whole week. I was only in for 2 days with my son.

There are so many gross things you never hear about. This reminds me of a conversation I had with one of my male friends. He was going on and on about how nobody ever talks about what it smells like in the delivery room, and how it has to be really rank...and I do find it odd that of all of the things you hear about, that's like a secret thing that no one ever discusses

I wonder how traumatising this shit is when your not on drugs. Has anyone had a natural birth with out being drugged up?

The teacher talked to us about c-sections, epidurals and touched on some (emphasis on the SOME part!) of the things mentioned in here. But not in depth like some of you have! Thinking back, I think thats what made me decide no kids for me! I had my gallbladder out and THAT was painful (they also make you poop or you don't get to go home!) I can't imagine having my stomach cut open to remove a human! Damn men have it good. They just shoot their seed and thats it. They have no idea what the fuck the rest of that feels like!

I didn't really feel much (if any) pain until a day or so later, and at that time, I just kinda felt sore. Also, I will say that while I had a 24 hour labor, the birth was relatively easy, and I WALKED out of the hospital less than 24 hours after giving birth to my son. I didnt bleed a huge ton, I didn't notice any weird smell giving birth, I didn't crap the bed. I did have 1st degree tearing, but it wasn't bad. Edited By: coboardgirl 11/07/2009 1:27 PM. I had a 4th degree tear and the Doctor had to cut me, so that area was sore for WEEKS!!!! Then, you become constipated, and this isn't the type were people may laugh at the thought of not being able to use the bathroom, this is the type were you are so uncomfortable that sitting nor standing help. They give you stool softners to take to help you out. It's so bad that the first time I used the bathroom afterwards, I was celebrating! Besides feeling completely terrible in that region, I felt great! Like everyone else said, they give you massive pads to wear that won't completely help, but it's something! However, you feel like the whole world can see these massive thing strapped to your butt. It's lovely. And the thing is, I had the most amazing, calm, and fun labor I could have ever imagined!! We all hung out and watched Saved By The Bell, and all those old school shows that come on early in the morning since my water broke at 6:00 AM. I was in labor for 8 hours and honestly, it was nothing like I had read; however the nurses did say that come my 2nd child, I won't be repeating this wonderful story. Wonderful and amazing pregnancy and labor... not so wonderful recovery...

I hated when they would come in a rub my stomach. I would always have a BIG gush of blood come out right after. One time the nurse went to change my pad after and I told her not to do it yet because I felt it coming. She didn't listen and it came out before she got the clean one down there. SO GROSS. Then come showers. Getting into and out of the shower was so gross because blood was running down my legs. The white towel that I put on the floor was disgusting looking when I was done. The first poop...yeah. I had stitches down there so it felt even worse. I seriously was almost in a standing position it hurt so bad. I won't even talk about getting the stitches. I guess it wasn't all that bad. I was just laying there having a random conversation with my doctor and all of a sudden he says "Now I have to put my finger in your butt to make sure that I didn't stitch it closed." I was like Has anyone touched on pooping while pushing?
