I turn 24 next month and I've never really wanted kids. I'll admit that I think a lot of kids/babies are cute but having/raising children is more about
kids just being cute. I don't have the patience or the ability to raise kids in the way I'd see fit. I have too many mental and physical problems and
I'm NOT going to put any kid of mine through that.

Ever since I was little I've said that I didn't want kids. I'm not very maternal and I think I'd be a bad mother. I don't really like kids,
although I tolerate them. This even includes my younger siblings (11 and 3).

I'm 32 and don't want children. I'm the oldest of 6 and most of my childhood was spent helping my mom raise my siblings, so I already did the
"Mom" thing.
I have never been maternal, I never dreamed of what my kids' names would be or even imagined what my wedding dress would look like. I also come from a family with history of different kinds of abuse, so I guess I feel like keeping myself on the right path is a full time job time. |

Maybe it's because I missed out on a lot when I was younger, but I'd rather be a kid than have one. I'm only about to turn 23 though, so who knows.
I love the unpredictability of life.

I don't care for kids. I like nothing about them. I live in the south & everyone thinks it's something I'll change my mind about, but the
disgust I feel toward them when I have to be around them is far greater than anything else I can think of that doesn't cause physical pain. LOL I won't
change my mind. I guess I just didn't get the motherly genes.

I don't really have the patience to deal with young kids, I worked as a nanny and that experience made it even worse.
 My husband and I are very happy
without kids.

I commend the people in the thread who are choosing not to have kids because of mental/physical issues that run in the family. I think it is selfish to have
children with a higher risk of inheriting those issues.
I read a story of a couple that kept having kids despite each one having an often fatal disease or deformity. That's so cruel to me. Don't put a young soul through that. If you want a family so much, adopt. |

I don't trust women. Child support and them being able to move and take them away and everything else. They can get remarried and have some other guy raise
your kid and your daughter could ask him to give her away at her wedding.

Ive never wanted children, not even as a kid. The thought of being someones mother and having to care that much about someone else is just too much for me. And
honestly, while I think they are mostly adorable, I dont really like kids so no point in actually having them.

I do not hate children. I usually hate the mentality of people who say, "You don't want children; therefore, you must hate them." Ugh no. I like
kids. I like kids who can go home. As of right now...I do not want children. I'm not a selfish person but I don't want the responsibility of waking up
to take care of something else. In 5-10 years, who knows how I'll feel, but I know right now I do NOT want kids.
