I am buying a new camera!! Don't know too much about them... looking to buy one for recreational use. Willing to spend upto $400.00. Please let me know
which one you currently use, what you like/dislike about it. Also, if you don't mind, post a picture so I can see the quality.
Thanks in advance

i have a panasonic lumix - it was on sale for $200 - but the newer models are a bit better (they record better audio for video than mine does) other than that
i really like it and it has 10x zoom but fits in my pocket

I have a Canon Rebel EOS XT. It's a DSLR, but you can make it completely automatic too. It was $400 and worth every penny.
The Canon Powershot line is really good too. |

Yup. I got it on a really good sale at Wal-mart last month, I guess they were clearancing to make room for new models. Otherwise I was going to get something
like this Powershot:

I want something simple I can keep in my purse. Nothing too professional or advanced.

make sure it has a rechargeable battery, and preferably try for a canon.
otherwise, its up to you! |

oh...well then you're not going to need $400. i think that's what made people think you wanted a really good point and shoot.
i have no idea about the small ones then. i take mine everywhere, but i know that's not really something a lot of people would want to do with the size mine is. |

I currently have a little Canon Powershot ELPH (I want to say it's the SD1200 model, but it's upstairs
right now and I'm too lazy at the moment to go look). Either way, I've always found the PowerShot's pretty good cameras. There are times when I
wish I had a DSLR, but for now the little point and shoot takes care of what I need it too
I've made some wallpapers out of pictures I've taken, granted on a lot of them I've
done additional photo-shop work on them, but still.

I have the Canon Powershot S5. I mostly use it for concert photography. The only downfall is that it's pretty big, but it has excellent picture quality for
a point and shot.

I also have a Canon Powershot SD1200 for mostly everything else. I love this as well.

Posting cause I want a new one also and $400 is what I would spend.
I spent 200$ on one (a Panisonic Lumix) BUT it had no sound recording....BUT it has 40mins of video. I want a good opitcal zoom (nose hairs I want to see) and at least 10 mpixals |
