My boss tried to take away tomorrow as a paid holiday (it's listed in my employment offer). He states that Veterans Day is "not widely
celebrated" so I am seeing what you guys say.

I used to at my old job but not at this one. My last job we were closed whenever the city was closed so we got Veteran's Day and Election Day in November.
At my current, we get just Thanksgiving (and the day after).
But I'm taking tomorrow anyway because it's my late brother's birthday and we always go out to visit his grave on his birthday. |

I get the day off. Tell him to go to a military base and tell them he doesn't think it is worthy of celebrating.

it's an optional day for me, meaning we get 2 out of 4 (MLK birthday, washington's birthday, columbus day, veterans day) as paid holidays and the rest
you come in and work as normal or use it as a vacation day. I already used up my two

We got it off yesterday. I work for NBC Universal who is owned by GE. I was surprised we got it and to boot on the Monday to give a three day weekend.

I work at a private college and students don't have classes and it's considered a staff holiday, meaning if you work it's a comp day. So my office
only has two people on, and I'm not one of them, woohoo!!
