Posts: 8128 (11/10/2009 2:34 PM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts	I stupidly scratched some car yesterday and I left a note because I wasn't sure what damage I did exactly. Mine just has peeled paint. I know for damn sure I didn't cause her dent, but now the lady is saying that yes, I did. Everyone is bagging on me for leaving a note, but I thought it was the "right" thing and now I feel like I'm getting screwed sideways. Any insight, thoughts? I'd really appreciate it. I was in a furniture place and my car was stuffed with boxes (office furniture), the loading area was tight as hell and I should've just gotten out as my side mirrors weren't helping, but I tried to wing with through the mirrors and failed of course. I was going slow as hell as my car was filled with shit, and the force in her bump cannot be made by someone going 3 MPH. Sigh. Edit: I'm pretty sure I only smudged my paint on her car, and she's now blaming me for her dent and her deep scratches.

How exactly did you scratch the car on what looks like the same side and in the same places?

I don't understand how your paint ended up exactly square in the middle of her dent, but I also don't understand how side scratches on your car could cause a dent on hers, it's clear you just sideswiped it.

Posts: 8130 (11/10/2009 2:56 PM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts	I didn't want to go through my insurance because then I have to a $500 deductible and my damage will be nowhere that amount (a friend owns an auto shop) and the red smudges on her car aren't worth that amount either. Of course she's trying to sink me for her dent and scratch and if that's the case, I'll have to go through insurance. I'm just really regretting the note right now.

I was barely going 10 mph going around a corner at my apartment complex because it was really icy out. I hit a big patch of ice and my brakes didn't work and neither did my emergancy brake. I barely tapped this guys car on the right side. Just a few scratches. We get the info from the insurance company later on and he's claiming that I cause a dent in his car which ironically is on the other side of the car. Since I was stupid and didn't have any camera with me it was my word against his and I had to pay almost $1200 in damages to his car! I found out months later from his roommate that he got in an accident the day before and just left without turning it in to insurance. Which is how he got that dent Good luck!!

Last year a woman hit my parked car and it caused similar scratches... I got a bill for all the damages even though her insurance paid for it and it was more than 800 bucks.

It was very tight and these stupid yellow, concrete poles were everywhere. So as I was turning left (to then go straight and leave) I brushed her left side with my left side.

I know I didn't cause the dent because that dent had to be made with force, and I was not going more than 3 or 4 MPH because I could not see, and felt like I was in a freaking obstacle course as I was backing out.
