Do I play dumb and pretend that I never received a request, or keep it real that I just don't want so many coworkers as a friend?
What do I tell my coworker why I denied her on FB?

One of my coworkers (who is also training to be manager) added me on facebook and I denied her. I don't want those nosy bitches up on my statuses or page,
period. I know she's going to ask me one of these days for sure, so what do I say?

Just tell her that you want to keep your professional and personal life seperate and that includes sites like facebook. Just be nice about it.

You take option three- create a restricted group and put your coworkers and family members in it. If you set it up right, they won't be able to see your
statuses, pics of you, anything beyond basic information. And you can "hide" them so you don't have to see their bullshit, either.
Or, you can just be honest and say "I prefer to keep my Facebook page for my family and close friends. I'm sure you understand. Feel free to email me through work anytime, though!" |

I would have just put her on limited profile.

I had a coworker try to friend me and I explained that I never friend anyone from work on my FB. She was fine with it.

Oh yeah, and I suppose it's kind of personal considering that I do have a few coworkers on there. She just seems very shady and would put my business out
there.

I use the "I'm hardly on facebook" excuse.

FB needs to do something about that IMO. I would put coworkers in limited profile but then when you do that it's kind of obvious because they don't get
your status updates or anything. I wish there was a way of making individual status updates exclusive for certain groups.
It's not life or death serious but I do find that I edit my update content and when I post something based on the fact I know certain people (ie: coworkers) will be reading it. |
