I'm afraid to tell people in my real life this because I fear they will explode. You see I'll be 25 in
about a week and no real idea want I want to do with my life as far as a career goes. I fear they will explode because I've changed my mind so much
already. I went to college 7 years ago with plans to be a fashion designer, but ended up coming out with a degree in biology because I thought I wanted to be a
vet. I worked for a short time in a vet's office and discovered that wasn't for me. The vet job was followed by working in a lab for an area college
and that wasn't for me. I ended dup taking an education internship and fell in love with teaching , and I have spent the past 2 years working on becoming a
certified early ed teacher, but now that I'm just a few courses away from becoming lead teacher certified, I'm seriously starting to rethink my choice.
The more time I spend in the classroom and the more interviews I go on I'm starting to doubt I'm cut out to be a teacher or at least a good teacher.
I'm actually dreading going to my interviews tomorrow and my substitute teaching position.
I just feel really pathetic. I thought I'd be further along in life at this point or at the very least have a good idea what I wanted to do with myself.
How do you figure out what you should do with your life? How are you sure you've chosen the right path?

I think that is fairly normal. Keep working at it until you find something you are comfortable.
You might just be anxious about getting your first full-time job. Give it some time.

What you're going through is normal I just prayed and asked the lord for wisdom and direction. I put my life in God's hands. Do what you love to do
...what makes you happy and then find away to get payed for it. In the mean time just pray and tell God everything you have expressed and see how you feel. I
hope you feel better....
God Bless!!!!!!!!

I don't know, maybe it is just nerves. I just wish I had some sort of sign or something telling me I was doing the right thing, or if I'm not what the
right thing is. Maybe, I should just give up and do whatever and not worry about finding the "right" path.

I'm 23 and I graduated in spring of '08. I have a degree that I'm not totally interested in anymore and I'd go back to school but I still have
no idea what I want to do. So, alas, I'm back in working retail. I try to keep quiet about going to college b/c then everyone is like, "Why the fuck
are you working HERE?"

I've tried the praying. I don't feel like I'm getting answers. I actually, don't feel to close to God right now, but that's a whole
different issue.

I feel the same way
And with the economy the way it is, I can't find a job to even see if I like my degree (Accounting and HR).

I hear ya, I'm the same way. Very undecided what I want to do career wise, I seem to change my mind all the time. I also thought about working in a vets
office- I worked at one for 3 months as an assistant but I just couldn't last, they were going to pay for all my schooling to become a vet tech and
everything...but bagging up euthanized animals was not for me :-( . Have you thought about maybe getting into research, perhaps marine mammal research? You
might be able to pursue that with the Biology degree. I have a friend that I went to high school with and I am so envious of his job. He does marine mammal
research, lives in Australia, has all these cool pics on his facebook from traveling where his work takes him.

I do love traveling, I don't know how good be out on aboat for months at a time
