Those examples did NOT help your case because Taylor sounds better than Britney here. Britney's trying to do much more than she is capable of vocally and Taylor knows her boundaries and sing talks. Nothing wrong with knowing what you can and cannot do and sticking with it. The jury is out on whether Taylor deserved EOTY award (she did have a good year and maybe it was a sympathy award because of the Kanye fiasco), but I think even she knows the Vocalist one was a popularity contest because she was the worst, most inexperienced vocalist nominated in the entire category.

If Britney would just sing talk like Taylor does, then and ONLY then would she have more success vocally. Her problem is that she actually tries to sing and it always backfires on her because she tries to do more than her natural ability lends. Why are we talking about Britney?

Was her performances from last night posted? Because that's enough to decide that she's not great in that aspect at all.

I saw her name everywhere and then I realized she was this country/pop singer. When I heard her sing in videos or live, I was like wtffff? This girl can't sing! She's very mediocre. I just didin't get it. But I heard she writes her own songs so 2 thumbs of for that as they do become hits.

When (ok that's still a big when) Britney sounds good, you can tell there's still some vocal ability there. Not much but it's there. She can do little runs and hold certain notes and she sounds good in the studio with some studio magic. Mind you studio magic can only do so much. Taylor doens't even sound like a singer in the studio. She sounds very average like you and I. Literally.
