I keep transferring though in hopes of finding something I enjoy. Hopefully this time I'm right. I went to orientation a couple days ago and there were older people there!

Posts: 1008 (11/13/2009 3:13 PM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts	I am 21, a senior and I will be graduating in the spring. DON'T feel bad about being older. Just make sure you go to a school that older adults attend. I went to one college freshman year and no one was older at all. Like 23 would have been old there. (It was a pretty messed up school for many reasons... ) Where I go now older adults are completely normal. I have a 32 year in one class now, 2 woman in their 40s in another class, and in the past I've been in classes with about 5 woman who were probably 50/60-ish. When asked what they are going to do when they graduate they would respond, "I'm going to retire!" Awesome ladies. Don't be afraid at all, I love having people in my classes who are older and have more life experience- it adds another great perspective on issues.

I went back to school after that time and graduated when I was 26. I honestly didn't feel that weird. There are a lot of older students on campus.

I think those that are older value the education more and take a lot more away from the experience. Too many just go because that's what mommy and daddy have always dreamed about and they are paying the bill. Kim, I'm pleased to see you are thinking about going. It'll be a great way to harness your mind and emotions giving you a ton more experiences and opportunities leading, hopefully, to a happy and fulfilled life. If you don't try, you'll never know.

It's hard (I went from being a stay at home mom to full-time student!), but there's nothing else I would rather be doing.

Also my age made me feel weird, but when I see other people my age or older I have no problem with it. It's also hard to go back because I have a huge anxiety problem.
