I'm not a huge fan of that tradition, so most likely not. If I wanted to name my son after my husband in some way, I'd be more likely to give my son my
husband's first name as his middle name. I'd want my son to have his own identity.
My best friend's husband's family has a tradition sort of like that. His grandfather's name is Alan....he named his son (husband's father) David Alan. Then David's son (friend's husband) was named Brian David. So, when my friend and her husband have a son, it would have Brian as the middle name. |

We have 3 men names James in my family and it confused the hell out of me when I was little.
ETA: Actually 98% of my family is named after someone including me. Either first or middle name. I don't mind that but I just don't like the junior things. Only give the kid one of your names.

NGL, even though I hate the idea of a junior, I think it's neat when a daughter has the same name as her mother, like Caroline Herrera Jr. My grandmother
and her mother have the same name as well, only different middle names.
