I HATE when people say that because it never means right back. It means a few hours from now but you better still be ready to drop everything and talk to me.
My mom does it all the time and then absolutely flips if I am doing something else and cannot really talk (like, in the middle of working out like I want to be
doing right now!).

My mom answers the phone, says "Hold on" and then continues talking to whoever she's with for 5 minutes before thinking I'll still be
holding.
